Even though the sculpting is mostly a one person job, this is the result of a collective effort, with talented individuals contributing their expertise at each stage. I am grateful to all those involved in bringing this to life, especially Daniel Falconer who was the art director. The base was not done by me.

While I don't have much to share about the model itself this time, I want to highlight the circumstances in which it was created. It was during a challenging period in my life when I returned to Brazil to be with my terminally ill mother. Throughout the three months I spent by her side, I did my best to assist her while also working on this project. Balancing the emotional and practical aspects of those events was incredibly tough, and there were moments of profound isolation and sadness. Due to these circumstances, the final piece shows slight variations from the my 3D model. Other artists stepped in and brought it to completion, although my contribution accounted for most of the work.
These moments, intertwined with the creation of this piece, will forever stay with me, even though this is not any type of tribute to her. The making of any artwork go beyond the content or marketing potential of the piece; what lingers in my memory are the endless brush strokes and the bodily experience of shaping each small part and form, which have no meaning by themselves. And now, the human condition itself also became part of it.
Rest in peace Mom ♡
